About Us Alice in Wonderland - 2011 Year End Recital Backstage Dance Studio operates in Guelph, Ontario. • Our qualified dance instructors teach students of all ages. • We offer dance lessons in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Acro and Hip Hop. • We offer students the choice to participate in competitions. • We offer a creative movement class for 3-year-olds. • We offer a six-week trial period for new students. • With respect to ballet, we teach Russian Style Ballet and offer our students the opportunity to take examinations through the Society of Russian Ballet. • Our dance instruction year runs from September to the end of May each year.  Pre-registration takes place in May and June, with further registration in the Summer and Fall. Our goal is to teach our students the technique, desire, and skills they need to "let their stars shine" on stage and off. We strive to create an atmosphere in which people try to bring out the best in each other. Annual Year End Recital Each Year, all of our students have an opportunity to participate in a gala Year-End Recital.  Each recital takes the form of a full-scale themed show, with costumes and special effects.  Backstage selects musicals or productions that are well known to most of our students and their parents and friends.  The recital is performed in a theatre, at the end of the dance school year.  We currently present three shows each year.  Many of our students appear in one of the shows, with some students appearing in more than one show. We announce the theme for the year end show around Christmas each year.
